The film also achieved significant commercial success, earning 233 million rubles domestically while total box office amounted to $13.6 million, nearly doubling its $7 million budget. After receiving generally positive reviews from critics, an Annecy International Animated Film Festival review noted the film's ambition is reminiscent of the golden age of Russian animation. In the United States, it was released on 11 October 2013. The film was released on 31 December 2012 in Russia. Inspirational evaluation of The Snow Queen at international film markets set its stage for international distribution. The Snow Queen was one of the most anticipated projects of the Russian film industry in 2012. The Snow Queen never realized Gerda was truly the last threat from winter domination when henchman troll Orm (voice of Ivan Okhlobystin and Doug Erholtz) joins Gerda's quest as a friend. Set after the Snow Queen invoked the spell of eternal winter, the film follows the story of Gerda who sets out on an improbable frigid journey up North to save Kai. Like the fairy tale, the main character and heroine of the film is Gerda (voice of Nyusha and Jessica Straus). The film was produced by Timur Bekmambetov, Alexander Ligaiy, Yuri Moskvin, Sergey Rapoport and Olga Sinelshchikova. The film is a remake of the 1844 story of the same name by Hans Christian Andersen. You just wouldnt use these 2 things for the same purpose, with the exception of running a 140 sample vs the uad-1 140, and i would say at a static setting throughout the song the point would probably be moot, it isnt gonna be that much of a difference.Īs was said before, convoverbs, modelled \"mechanical verbs\" like the plate 140 and algorithmic verbs are really apples, oranges and bananas. Its a component by component physics model of the actual unit, very hard to code and more about giving you the exact behavior of a specific unit than a whole bunch of different reverbs. Plate 140 is a completely different approach, so different that i dont think comparisons are valid. Compare SIR, Pristine Space, IR-1, Wizoos, and all the other convolution reverbs out there and you quickly realize why they encrypt their samples so nobody else can mix and match samples and plugins and realize that, using the same sampled impulses, convolution plugins are basically more the same than different. To extend that analog you could think of plate140 as a synth, specifically a physics modeling synth but lets not get all complexicated hehehe, the effect is driven entirely by algo with no required \"sample\" in memory.Ĭonvolution plugins are easier to code, and in the end the quality is in the sampled reverbs, not in the plugin. You can really think of convolution plugins and sampler vsti plugins along the same lines, and much like you can run kontakt at 96k with a 44k sample bank in it you can do the same with a convolution verb, which is basically using a sample of a reverb impulse to drive the effect. ![]() In the end it is how it sound not how we get it. Something that has Pace drivers.Ok, they work on my old Intel P4,but not on main AMD 64 based system.I try to avoid So I guess the convolution is lossy process after all.Īs the Altiverb is iLok/Pace related it is a big problem to me personally. My system corrupts everytime I install Them would be nice. However, what I do know is that IRs from Plate 140 plug-in do not sound the same or as good as the original plug-in. There`s no test samples of these Plate IRs on the Net.Some snare drum and other samples through Of course the main thing is how these IRs sound, but it is the only thing that I can`t comment since I haven`t heard them. What can you do then?I guess there is no maxed reverb times among those Plate IRs.The Plate 140 has all the controls of the original and some more like said earlier by others. What reverb times do these Altiverb IRs represent? They obviously are fixed so if there is no matching reverb time in the library UAD-1 Plate is algorithm and as such it is first generation processing. This is just my reasoning so please correct me if I`m wrong. Then follows the deconvolving process that gives the final IR.Then this IR is used at the sample level to present captured gear or space. ![]() Various signal chains. The signal chain in this case would be: impulse or sine sweep ->DA converter->EMT Plate->AD converter. To develop a critical engagement with the idea of atmospheres involves stepping outside the confines of European humanism. ![]() There is a tension, reflected in the phenomenological literature, between the precise characteristics of urban atmospheres associated with specific times, spaces, or situations, located within the wider dynamics of modernity, and an implicit attachment to a bounded, idealized, and to some degree ahistorical human subject. When considering urban atmospheres we encounter a paradox: on the one hand, we can think of distinctive urban atmospheres such as particular streets or quarters, but on the other hand, the idea of an urban atmosphere can denote more generic categories of experience such as airports, highways, or more impersonal modes of social interaction. Atmospheres also inhere in the multi-sensory evocations of memory, both singular and collective, and can evoke a spectral penumbra within the synesthetic spaces of human meaning and habitation. The meaning can oscillate between, for example, the latent atmosphere of a room or the complex interplay between multiple subjects in crowd-like situations. ![]() An expanded conception of atmospheres has emerged in parallel with new theoretical reflections on space and subjectivity. 4 The word ‘atmosphere’ can simultaneously evoke both a body of air, or even simply space, along with its prevailing affective characteristics. As early as 1998, for example, the German philosopher Jens Soentgen refers to an ‘atmospheric turn’ within European phenomenology and reference to ‘affective atmospheres’ has become more frequent within fields such as anthropology, architectural theory, and cultural geography. Over the last couple of decades there has been growing interest in atmospheres. The discussion closed with a laconic remark about a popular singer being ‘an atmosphere all by herself’ in an ironic affirmation of the extended definition offered by the German phenomenologist Gernot Böhme, who claims, amongst other things, that an atmosphere can include the ‘aura’ projected by an individual in a spatial setting. For sceptics, however, the concept remained somewhat ‘fuzzy’ and ill-defined, seemingly conflating the idea of ‘atmosphere’ with that of ‘affect’, or not adding significantly to our understanding of urban life. For its proponents a focus on urban atmospheres enabled a richer understanding of collective forms of urban consciousness and experience. At a recent international symposium there was an extended discussion about the conceptual utility of the term ‘urban atmosphere’. ![]() Feedback tools and performance ratings per shift.Plus, managers can program rules for different types of shifts. Using both regular and trapped chests allows the chests to be placed next to each other. This method requires an underground room to be dug out before the farm is constructed. Spawning pads are usually constructed with a 2½-block gap using slabs, to allow all types of slimes to spawn. Before building a slime farm, first decide whether to build it in a slime chunk or swamp biome. The first step in constructing either farm is the spawning place. The main plot feels fairly familiar and doesn’t really do anything that unexpected. It’s really the little things that stand out in the film, their romance, the reaction shots of Decoy (Dan Sylvester) who looks just as awkward as you’ll feel and culture shock of Japan. There’s a nice sub-plot about Steeves (Steve Stamp) and a budding romance with Miki, the translator who follows the group around.
